About This Project

Napier Street – Tristen was approached by Dudley Developments to work alongside architects Haysom Ward Miller of Cambridge, to produce a landscape proposal for a residential redevelopment in the heart of Cambridge. The challenging brief included designing a communal space for the 14 residential units, a private roof terrace with dining space and seating, and where ever possible adding soft landscaping and trees to increase the biodiversity on site. The other notable restraint was that under a large majority of the site was a basement, which meant much of the soft landscaping would need to be installed above ground in planters or raised beds.
The materials chosen for the design were selected based on there robust nature and low maintenance, with textured granite chosen for the main access paths combined with hardwood decking for the communal seating areas and private terraces. Planters were to be constructed from steel and powder coated in a RAL colour to match the windows on the building.
