The clients at Bourn Road approached Tristen to design a contemporary and stunning garden after focusing their efforts on the redevelopment of the house. The garden was around 1 acre but a completely blank canvas, with a large amount of building excavations and materials on site. The design brief was to create a garden which could provide a stunning dining and lounge area, bespoke water feature, formal lawn areas and a productive area for the family to enjoy. There was also a small pitch and putt green incorporated for golf practice!
The garden has been designed to be built in two phases over successive years. Phase one of the build is now complete with planting taking place spring 2016. In the meantime, the owners are enjoying the crisp clean lines and infinity water feature, which give a somewhat Mediterranean feel, while the imposing steel pergola adds an impressive yet intimate feeling to the entertaining space. The enclosing hedging and screening pleached trees surrounding the seating area, provide a sheltered and secluded space for relaxing.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next two phases which will add sculpture, discreet woodland pathways and a golf hole to the mix!
