Urban Entertaining Space – Cambridge

About This Project

As a new build development, this courtyard started life as a blank slate. The client wanted a true entertaining space, to bring the inside out. The garden was  dominated by the brick wall on the North side – we rendered a large panel in order to bounce light into the garden and provide a backdrop for architectural shrubs as they grow and a pergola covered dining area. With two dogs, the owner was keen to have raised planting areas – these encapsulate the lounging area and once the planting is established, will give a feeling of being nestled in amongst the greenery. Western Red Cedar trellis hides standard closeboard fencing and three pleached Beech trees provide screening from some of overlooking windows. Subtle up-lighters and festoon light strings bring the garden to life in the evening.
